Wonders & Watches Miami to Debut Next February

The Fondation Haute Horlogerie hosts the four-day event over President's Day weekend.

The northern downtown neighborhood known as Miami's Design District has experienced an upscale renaissance over the last decade, transforming a luxury destination for galleries, fine dining and the satellite U.S. edition of annual contemporary art fair Art Basel.

So it's no wonder that Swiss Horological Society Fondation Haute Horlogerie has chosen the neighborhood to host its inaugural Wonders & Watches Miami, a four-day luxury President's Day weekend that promises to bring together 21 luxury watch manufacturers — A. Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Bulgari, Cartier, Hermès, Hublot, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Louis Vuitton, Panerai, Piaget, Tag Heuer, Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels among others.

Coinciding with the Miami Design District Concours, a showcase of more than 100 cars, and the 30th annual Miami Yacht Show, the FHH hopes to capitalize on the luxury crowd already in town for the weekend.

"The creativity and debut of new styles will make this a must-attend event for collectors and enthusiasts alike," said Craig Robins, CEO of Dacra Development and developer of the Design District. "It’s also the first time many of these brands will be debuting new styles in the U.S. so this is a big moment."

"Throughout the weekend, guests will have access to ‘Telling Time,’ a special exhibition comprised of nine films, creative installations and dramatic performance works by international contemporary artists," says the press release. "WWM will also feature immersive virtual reality experiences, each designed to bring the world of fine watchmaking to a new dimension. As part of WWM, the FHH is developing a robust conference line-up and
educational workshops that will be accessible to anyone from amateurs to connoisseurs and collectors."
